I came to teaching yoga through my deep interest in trauma and its expression in our bodies. While that remains central to my work, I also take great pleasure in simply sharing yoga with a wide array of people of varying ages, abilities, and mobilities. My classes have a particular flavor, and I am most grateful to the people who have nurtured by my style and supported my growth as their teacher. Over time, my focus has turned toward therapeutic yoga because of its effectiveness in helping people resolve pain and re-establish balance in their bodies and lives.

I moved to Hull, Massachusetts, in 1980 from my Washington DC hometown, and worked as the Executive Director of the Hull Lifesaving Museum for 26 years. After retiring from HLM in 2013, I began actively pursuing my passions for yoga and fiber art. I’m an exhibiting artist at Hull Artist’s Gallery Nantasket, and participate regularly in local and regional juried shows. To learn more about my art, please visit my website wracklinetextiles.com.
I am the mother of three adult children. In addition to yoga, art, and family, I love travel, classic film, reading, listening to books and podcasts, other peoples’ great cooking, and being on the water in my kayak or Adirondack Guide Boat. When not in my art or yoga studios, I often can be found in the woods with my adored rescue dog, Mango.
I am an RYT 500. This means that I am certified in 200- and 300-hour trainings, and have sufficient teaching hours (in my case, 750 and counting) for this designation.
My 200-hour certification, through Open Doors, focused on basics of safe and effective Yoga instruction.
My 300-hour certification, with Shawn Cornelison and Shelly Dell, taught Therapeutic Essentials. In addition to a superb emphasis on anatomy and Functional Movement, the program focused on yoga for anxiety, depression, grief, and chronic pain.
I have completed course-work in a second 300-hour program, focusing on Energetic Healing, with Shawn Cornelison and Richard Lanza.
I am a certified Yin Yoga instructor, trained by Shawn Cornelison.
I have studied Meridian Yoga with Daniel Orlansky.
I have studied Fundamentals of Yoga Therapy, Yoga for the Older Adult, and Mechanics of Breathing, and Yoga for Hypermobility with Susi Hately.
I am engaged in a 1300 hour training with Susi Hately (Functional Synergy) to attain my IAYT international Yoga Therapy certification, March 2022.
